The Anglican Church of Ljubljana
We are Anglicans and Episcopalians who live in Slovenia,
a congregation of the Church of England, in the Diocese of Europe;
and are associated with Christ Church, Vienna.
..........If you are an English-speaker in Slovenia,
whether passing through on holiday or a permanent resident,
you are invited to join us.
..........We meet in the parish hall of the Lutheran Church at Gosposvetska cesta 9,
Ljubljana, just opposite Hotel Lev, on
the second Sunday of each month.
..........According to Anglican tradition,
all baptised believers who are regular communicants
in their own churches are welcome to receive Holy Communion at our services.
..........On weeks when we do not meet,
you might like to know that there is an English-language celebration in Ljubljana at 1100
each Sunday morning,
offering Christians the chance to participate in worship in accordance
with agreements between different Churches;
and also Anglican services every week in Venice,
every fortnight in Zagreb,
and every month in Trieste.
................May Pentecost (Whit Sunday)
.............we meet at the Lutheran Curch to celebrate Whit Sunday on 27th May, at 11:00.
........
You can always follow the Church's universal prayer, day by day and week by week, at
our own devotional webpage.
................The 400th anniversary of the King James Bible
The most ambitious project of our chaplaincy in 2011 was
our commemoration of the 1611 Authorised Version, in Zagreb on 10th November,
with a series of three lectures, a perfomance by a local choir of
Henry Purcell and Thomas Tallis settings of the Bible,
and extensive television coverage. For more details,

Read
the current Christmas edition of Crossways,
the monthly journal of Christ Church, Vienna.
.....................................Our picture
shows a detail of Barocci's Institution of the Eucharist (1608),
now in the Basilica di Santa Maria sopra Minerva, Rome:
Christ gives His followers His own Body at the Last Supper.
